Alien: Into Charybdis by Alex White

The book starts with a classic slow introduction to characters and their environment, however this part is a bit long, about 150 pages before to get some action. The overall feeling I have is that the book doesn’t know which direction it wants to go. So at the very end it is a very confusing novel. The story is very disjointed, it is very difficult to get into it. As soon as some action is coming, the author jumped into another direction and it is very frustrating. The buildup never ends and the rythme turns slow too often. There is too many characters and I wasn’t able to get attached really to any of them. I was really disappointed and very quickly I got bored. I jumped a bunch of pages because I was not able to find a lot of interest into the story. Not bad but not good either.
