Replay by Ken Grimwood
I don’t want to wait to tell you, that this book is really good. I highly recommend it. A few weeks ago I visited my favorite bookstore for the creative and the curious, Curio Mrvosa, and asked Alex to recommend a book. I was burned out with classic fantasy and I was coming out of a period of reading almost only technical books about ironwork, blacksmithing, beekeeping, and roleplaying games campaigns. I needed something different, something new. His recommendation was Replay. This book was so delightful and new. Replay revived my desire to read and to get out of my comfort zone. The main character is kind of an asshole and you will probably want to slap him on different occasions, it is so good to read about a character you do not identify as a hero or to you. The story is great, dialogues too, it is very well written, the book received a World Fantasy award in 1988. Buy, borrow, and read this book.
